Orchids

For this Christmas my Mum got Ali (my super duper girlfriend!) an orchid as part of her present.

There's something really special about orchids. I didn't realise but, if you look after them, they last for years! I always thought their delicate flowers only lasted a week or so.

The first time I saw an orchid was when I was 12 or so. My Mum had just given birth to my sister Katy. (I always mispell her name as Katie! Sorry Katy!) My Dad bought Mum an orchid. I was amazed at how delicate the flower was and how vivid the colours were.

So, thanks Mum for getting Ali this present. Let's hope it lasts and lasts.
