ABBA - Thank You For The Music

Mum and Dad will know how much of an ABBA fan I was back in the late 70s and early 80s. (I' not afraid to admit it!!

I guess one of my favourite tracks was this one..........Thank you for the Music. The complex chords and simple, but evocative lyrics made it a special song "of my time". Every time I hear it, memories of growing up in Gosport come flooding back.

Here's another classic.....Eagle. From 1977, the Queen's Silver Jubilee. A long hot summer and lots of street parties!!

I remember riding on my push-bike down to Stokes Bay to see the naval fleet anchored off shore, ready for the royal fleet review.

The clip above is from the 1977 film ABBA-The Movie. A lightweight but fun film (loosely) based around the story of a radio journalist chasing the super group around as they toured Australia the same year.
