Jade Goody

Those that know me, know I "don't suffer fools gladly". (Not always a good thing I know.)

So, I suppose when Jade Goody hit the scene in Big Brother it was no surprise I had little regard for her....... a celebrity seeking somebody who had little regard for base qualities such as respect and culture. (What is culture anyway?)

Now, Jade has made her fair share of mistakes - I guess the Shilpa Shetey malarky is the most (in)famous one - and I suppose people will form their own opinion of that.

So, what are people's opinions and feelings at the news that Jade has just months to live, following her diagnosis of cervical cancer, back in August.


I would suggest any preconceptions of Jade are stripped away. This is a person - pure and simple - a person just 27 years old, with two sons, Bobby and Freddy. A person with just a few short months to get "her affairs in order" before she departs this world forever.

I guess what I'm saying is that life is so fragile. Here was a 27 year old woman with the rest of her life to look forward to. Cancer is a nasty, indiscriminate disease which wipes out lives and destroys families. Celebrities and mere mortals are equally as vulnerable

I'm not ashamed to say I didn't like Jade Goody very much....but my heart goes out to her, Bobby, Freddy and the rest of her family. Be brave Jade. You're an inspiration to us all.
