(Dry) Rotten to the Core?

They say, "money goes to money" - but when it's yours and mine and it seems to be going into the pockets of those who are supposed to represent us, you have to question whether corruption is rife within the Mother of Democracy.

And it isn't confined to one particular party. It would appear pigs of all political persuasions have their own place at the trough.

Now, call me old fashioned, but I have always had a job where I got a set salary. If I did overtime I got paid for those hours. No more, no less. Now I'm a salaried manager in the NHS and I get a set salary - no more, no less. Even when I'm working 50 hours a week. (Not even a chance of getting paid overtime).

So, why o why, are these little piggies allowed to claim for so much? The interest on a second mortgage? The dry rot treatment on a house in Southampton when you're the MP for Luton? The clearing of the moat around your home? Your gardening bill? How can all these things be regarded as legitimate expenses?
