Haiti Earthquake

At 1653 local time (2153 GMT) on Tuesday, just 15km (10 miles) south-west of Port-au-Prince a magnitude 7 earthquake struck the Caribbean country of Haiti.

I don't intend to extensively blog about this - but just to say there are things we have a duty to do.

As we sit in our comfortable, western homes, the aid agencies, relief workers, the medical staff and urban search and rescue people swing into action. Putting their own lives on hold while they they respond to the pleas of help from others.

But they can't do this without money. Not just the money from Governments but money from us.

Here in the UK the relief agencies are co-ordinated by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). Here, donations are collected by a variety of methods. So, do your bit, click on their logo and donate some money to help the victims of this disaster.
